We're building the tool we needed ourselves

BizOps Central is run by Ben and Matt. Between us we've started and run small businesses for years: service businesses, sports businesses, software. Every one of them hit the same wall at the start. Not the paperwork, that part is documented everywhere. The hard part was everything around it: who's in, who owns what, where decisions get written down, what order to do things in, and what can safely wait.

We're doing it live

This company is itself a new partnership, and we run it on the same process this site teaches. We iterated the business name through more than a dozen candidates while operating under a placeholder. We talked ownership before we talked filings. We keep a decision log, we track what each of us puts in, and some of our own answers are still placeholders with a date to revisit. That's not a confession, it's the method. Real businesses are built out of decided-for-now.

What we believe

• Plain English wins. If a step needs a law degree to understand, the explanation is broken, not you.
• People before paperwork. Most business problems trace back to fuzzy agreements between founders. Settle the people part first.
• Placeholders are honest. "Decided for now, revisit later" beats pretending you're certain, and beats being stuck.
• The guidance is free. We charge when we do work for you, never for knowing what your business needs.
• We are not the vault. Your sensitive documents stay with you. We keep the map, you keep the valuables.

Where we're headed

A place where a small business keeps its whole operating picture: the areas that need attention, the decisions that got made, and the handful of things worth doing next. Guided when you want guidance, quiet when you don't, and done-for-you when you'd rather hand it off.
